Answers to frequently asked questions

 

-How do I request a quote or place an order?

  • Please complete the Contact Form and we will review your order request and respond within 72 hours (most cases are within 24). Please keep in mind Thurs-Fri are our busiest time and we may not be able to reply to calls or emails until Monday morning. Thank you so much for your patience.

-How far in advance should I place my order?

  • Orders should be placed at least 2 weeks in advance, however we do accept orders up to one year (365 days) in advance. Rush orders may be available and are subject to a rush fee depending on the order specifics.

-What kind of designs do you accept?

  • You may choose from designs within our cake portfolio or have something custom made. If you provide a picture please understand that it will be used as inspiration in creating your custom cake. Due to availability of different tools, decorating styles and materials available, cake artist may need to modify the design or structure of the example photo provided.
  • Any sketches provided to client are property of Blue Lily Treats and may not be provided to any other baker/bakery for execution without express written permission from Blue Lily Treats.

-Do you offer cake consultations/tastings?

  • We currently offer cake consultations on wedding cakes.
  • Because we are a cottage bakery all cakes are made to order, therefore we do not readily keep samples on hand for tasting.
  • A $30 fee will be assessed for cake tasting and if booked, the total will be applied toward your balance (minimum order requirement must be met.) Please contact us for more information.

-How do I book my order/reserve my date?

  • Your order becomes reserved only when your cake contract is drawn up, signed, & 50% (100% in the case the cake is booked less than one month in advance) booking retainer is received.
  • The retainer is paid to reserve your date and is NON-REFUNDABLE in the event of a cancellation.
  • Cakes are first come first serve and we only do a limited number of cakes per week.
  • If you need to change dates or move your event, please call us and we’d be happy to make accommodating arrangements at no charge, provided that notice is given at least 5 business days before delivery/pick up.
  • If the new date chosen is already booked, client will need to choose another date or forfeit the retainer.

-What is my payment schedule if I’m ordering one month or more in advance?

Wedding Cakes

  • Two months before your event date, 50% of your remaining balance is due. If you book your cake less than two months before your event date, your deposit plus your first payment is required.
  • The final balance is due one month before the event date. If your cake is ordered less than 1 month before the event date, the total amount is due immediately and your order will not be placed until payment is received.
  • We are happy to accept payments on the final contract price- However, all monies must be received 2 weeks prior to the event or your cakes will not be made and all payments will be non-refundable after the two week lock out.

Party Cakes

  • For orders placed more than 2 weeks in advance, 50% NON-REFUNDABLE retainer is due at the time of booking to reserve your date.
  • Final payment is due no later than 7 days before pickup/delivery.
  • In the event your invoice is canceled due to non-payment, a 10% re-issuance fee will be applied to your remaining balance.

-How do I make my payment?

  • We accept cash, all major credit cards via in-person payment as well as online invoicing processed through a 3rd party (We do not store any of your credit card information)

-Can I change my design?

  • Changes to your cake order: Size, Description, Flavors, etc. will be accepted until 2 weeks prior to the event date. After that lockout date we cannot accept any changes.
  • Order modifications may be subject to pricing changes.
  • Any additional payment required to modify an order must be paid on the date of the change and is non-refundable.

-When can I pick up my order?

  • Multiple slots are available on pick up dates, please specify what time you’d like your order to be ready.
  • Orders not picked up during the designated time slot may not be accessible as other deliveries are made throughout the day.
  • In the event you do not show up during your pick up time, your order will be subject to collection upon the availability of Blue Lily Treats as other deliveries allow.

-What are your delivery rates?

  • We are located in Rosenberg, TX off Hwy 59 and Hwy 36.
  • 1-25 miles- $25.00
  • 26-50 miles- $65.00
  • 51-100 miles- $95.00
  • Orders over 100 miles please contact us for a quote.

-What information do I need to provide when requesting delivery?

  • The address of the venue
  • Name and telephone number of contact person at the venue who will accept delivery

-What happens once my order is delivered?

  • The contact person will be required to sign a confirmation that the cake has been received.
  • Once the cake has been collected or delivered, set-up and signed for, Blue Lily Treats cannot be held responsible for any interference or damage to the cake.

-If nobody is at the venue to accept my order, what will happen to it?

  • We allow a 15 minute window after delivery time for any delays.
  • If nobody is present to accept delivery of your order, it will be returned back to our physical shop location.
  • Re-delivery will be subject to additional mileage charges/rescheduling fees at the sole discretion of Blue Lily Treats.
  • Blue Lily Treats is not responsible for any consequential loss due to non-delivery as a result of customers fault.

-Do you provide allergen information?

  • Yes. All listed allergens from packaged ingredients will be disclosed, as well as allergens from raw ingredients used during order production.
  • You are responsible for informing your guests of any allergy information accordingly and Blue Lily Treats can not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of the item.

-How should I store my cake?

  • Upon pick up/delivery you will receive instructions on the best storage for your cake which will specify if refrigeration or room temperature is best.
  • All baked goods should be consumed within 2 days after initial serving (date and time of event), after which it is customer’s discretion and, therefore, becomes your responsibility.

-Will you share photos of my order?

  • Blue Lily Treats keeps the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of customers cake or pictures in which they may be included. For example (but not limited to), advertising, display, website and internet promotion, photographic contests, public display, cake industry publications, studio display, television advertising and magazine advertising.

Blue Lily Treats has the right to withdraw any placed orders due to contributing factors including (but not limited to) non-cooperation, changes to order, etc.

If Blue Lily Treats invokes the right to withdraw, refunds will be subject to the same cancellation policies listed above.
